Prepare (October 2, 2016)

This blog gives you a glimpse into the upcoming Sunday Gathering. It's an opportunity to read through the passage we'll be studying together, pray through some of the liturgy we'll be using, and listen to a selection of the songs we’ll be singing.

ENCOUNTERS - Nature

SERMON

This week Gary Aston will be preaching the second in our ENCOUNTERS series, which is all about meeting the real Jesus. He'll be taking us through Mark 4:35-41 and Jesus' encounter with his followers, showing his authority over creation.

LITURGY

CALL TO WORSHIP

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth (Psalm 8)

MUSIC

  • Indescribable: A song of wonder at the creation God has made, declaring his glory and majesty revealed in the world around us.

  • Revelation Song: A reflection on John's revelation and the response of fear and awe that should be seen in all of us as we're faced with the reality of Christ.
